Okay so this weekend I went to a couple of my tree man's friend's wedding. They were getting married to each other, I will leave names out as some of the hings I have to say arent exactly nice. If I could sum up the whole affair in 10 words or less it would be: Unusual, pretty but pretencious, and hot. I mean - it was at an organic garden, which was a lovely setting, the bride and groom both looked fantastic - her dress was amazing and his tux was really cool. BUT...they walked a meditation maze - twice. Well, in and out. Sigh, and didnt really give the impression of equality as the groom was traipsing along behind the bride holding up her dress. And then for the reception you didnt really see them together very much. In fact I dont think I saw the groom at all for the last 2 hours we were there. No music, well there were two separate drumming groups - and it was cool to see the bride doing her drumming in her gown and shes quite good. But it wasnt really condusive to whole group mingling and dancing. Actually there were three separate groups of people there - Family, old friends and bride's new drumming friends. Just didnt embrace and pull everyone in. But it was very characteristic of the Bride - and I have to admit a small feeling of pity for the groom as he seemed to be a bit forgotten. Oh well - something to remember for if I ever get to plan my own nuptuals. Not that my tree man would let himself be backgrounded. Which is a good thing I think.
